Short Bio

PhD Marco Neves FAUL

Associate Professor with Habilitation in Design at the Lisbon School of Architecture – University of Lisbon, where he lectures in master’s and doctoral degrees. He is coordinator of the Interaction Design Master’s degree and coordinator of the DIV – Design, Interaction and Visualization research group. He lectured and trained in several institutions of higher education in the areas of communication design, interaction design and information design.
He is a full member of the Center for Research in Architecture, Urbanism and Design (CIAUD), member of the Center for Research in Territory, Architecture and Design (CITAD) and member of the Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI-LARSyS). His research focuses on design research methods, design for interactions and experience with print and digital media, the transition of interaction to static media through technological augmentation and understanding tangible interfaces. He also works on several intersections between interaction design and social challenges, healthcare devices, educational settings and information visualization. He supervises several master’s and doctoral dissertations and frequently publishes articles and book chapters on his areas of interest. He was given the scientific merit award from the University of Lisbon for the area of Design in 2021.
