Call for submissions

Type of submissions

Submitted papers must meet the following rules:

Full papers 

Between 8 to 15 pages, including title, abstract, keywords, main paper body and images (bibliographical references are included in the limit of pages).

Short papers 

Between 4 to 6 pages, including title, abstract, keywords, main paper body and images (bibliographical references are included in the limit of pages).

Extended Abstracts

Up to 600 words, including keywords plus visual graphics and photos. The main purpose of extended abstracts is to concisely present ongoing research, namely focusing on the project’s initial modeling, demonstrating how models for applied research projects and intermediate results were created, and including a vision of pains and gains, obstacles, and overcomes. We suggest following a structure with the typology of case method presentation.

Publishing Opportunities

a. All accepted papers will be published in the official conference book proceedings and be ISSN/ISBN certified.

b. Authors of the best full papers will be allowed to have their work featured as a chapter in “What’s Around Design? Strategic, Speculative or Biodesign Futures for Nature Positive Impact”, an indexed book by Springer Nature – Waiting for the final negotiation

c. All short papers authors will be invited to publish in a Special Edition series of the Scopus-indexed “Revista Lusófona de Educação.”

Recommendations

Recommendations

Authors should address one of the conference’s five tracks.

Authors should demonstrate a high degree of academic scholarship, clearly articulate their research focus, provide a concise synthesis of the research context, describe the methods used to undertake the research, present the research findings, and summarize the contribution to the field.

The papers should be written and presented in English.

Follow the APA publication style for in-text citation and reference lists.

For the blind peer review, all submissions must be anonymous and must not contain the name(s) of the author(s) or any references to institutions.

Before uploading your full paper, please ensure to remove any author references.

Each author can submit a maximum of 2 papers as the lead author.

Presentations

Full papers presentation should follow the presentation guideline and template (here). It should last 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for a Q&A. 

Short papers presentation should be in Pecha Kucha format (see details below), followed by 5 minutes for a Q&A. 

About pecha kucha format presentations

Pecha Kucha’s presentation uses 20 slides or images displayed for 20 seconds each. The slides move automatically as the presenter speaks. This format ensures that the speaker is concise, keeps the presentation moving, and covers all content.
