PhD Mostafá Zekri ISMAT

Mostafa Zekri has a PhD in Social and Historical Anthropology (1997) from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Former VI section of La Sorbonne University); Master in History and Civilizations (1992), from the same institution. Member of CERL _ CNRS (1997- 1998); Professor at the Department of History, Archeology and Heritage at the University of Algarve (1999 – 2003), Integrated Researcher at CIDEHUS – University of Évora (2002- 2006). Since 2006, he has been an Integrated Researcher at CHAM – Humanities Center of Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Universidade dos Açores. Since 1999, member of CELAS – Center for Luso-Arab Studies. Since 2006 he has been an Associate Professor at the Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes – Grupo Lusófona in Portimão, where he works, in addition to teaching, as Coordinator of the International Relations Office and President of the Electoral Commission. He is the author of four books and several articles, published in national and international scientific journals, on topics related to Arab culture and Islamic, Sunni Islam, minorities and migration, Human Rights, the Mediterranean and Mediterranean-ness, contemporary thought and the issues of research and higher education, Transhumanism, Design and Mediterranean Architecture. He collaborates as trainer and/or researcher with several national and international university institutions. He received the Gold Medal of Recognition and Academic Merit from the Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias. He participated in projects financed by the FCT and international organizations (IEHL_CNRST _ Rabat; ESPR_Universidade Saint-Louis…). Accredited by the CCDPFC in the scientific areas of Anthropology and History of Portugal.
