PhD Magda Kochanowska – Fine Arts Academy Warsaw, Vice-dean

She is a designer by education and also the author of numerous publications on design in both specialist and popular journals. Since 2005, she has been associated with the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 2010, she defended her doctorate, and in 2020, she obtained the title of habilitated doctor. She deals with design theory and criticism as well as design methodologies. For many years, she was an editor at the design quarterly 2+3D. In 2011-12, she lectured at Universidad Europea de Madrid. She has carried out Polish and international exhibition projects both domestically and abroad. In 2014, she created “Polish Job” – an exhibition of Polish design presented during Design Week in Milan. She was the general curator of the Polish design presentation at the 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial in 2014. In 2016, she curated an exhibition of Polish design as part of the XXI Triennale di Milano. She has been awarded the Rector’s Prize three times for her educational, artistic, and organizational achievements and for her commitment to the work of the University (2009, 2017, 2023). She is the co-author of Design Mindset Detector™ – a psychometric tool that diagnoses individual predispositions for applying design methods and supports development. During the 2020-2024 term, she serves as Vice-Dean for Education.
