Professor Emeritus of Aalto University
Yrjö Sotamaa in an internationally awarded expert in design education, design research and design strategy. He is a long time President of the University of Art Design Helsinki, Professor Emeritus of Aalto University and has a long-time role in building the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University as Honorary Dean and Professor. Sotamaa is the founder and first President of Cumulus Association. Currently he is Chairman of the Board of the high-profile design and architecture studio Ateljé Sotamaa. Yrjö Sotamaa has devoted his work to release the potential design in betterment of the society. He has both studied and worked with Buckminster Fuller and Victor Papanek. He has done pioneering work in development of interdisciplinary education and research and is the main architect of the Aalto University. He is author of the Kyoto Design Declaration 2008.
