PhD Ana Margarida Ferreira UBI – Researcher at LabCom/iA

Dr. Ana Margarida Ferreira (AMF) currently serves as an Assistant Professor with Habilitation in Design at Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI), alongside her role as a senior researcher at UBI’s R&D unit, LabCom/iA*. Her academic background includes a Habilitation in Design (IADE – UE, 2020), a Postdoc in Design and Innovation for Social Change (Cyprus University of Technology, 2019), a PhD in Production Engineering / Industrial Design (UBI, 2008), a Post-Graduation in Product Design (Glasgow School of Art / CPD, 1996), and a BA in Industrial Design (IADE, 1995). Dr. Ferreira’s research interests primarily lie in Design Methodologies, Creativity & Innovation, Design Education, Social Innovation, and Sustainable Development. She actively collaborates with national and international R&D units and coordinates several R&D+i projects. She is the co-founder and co-editor of “DISCERN, International Design Journal for Social Change, Sustainable Innovation and Entrepreneurship” and the President of Creative Nature Hub, an NGO focused on sustainable development in rural areas.
