Ignacio Urbina Polo – Pratt Institute, NYC

Ignacio Urbina Polo is a Venezuelan industrial designer, researcher, and curator. He earned a master’s degree in Product Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina and worked at the Brazilian Laboratory of Industrial Design. A founding partner of the design studio Metaplug, he was also a professor and later director at Prodiseño – School of Communication and Design in Caracas. Currently, he is a professor and Chair of the Industrial Design Department at Pratt Institute in New York. With over 35 years of experience, Urbina is a founding member of the Ibero-American Design Biennial and Iberoamérica Diseña – ID, the Ibero-American Design Association, and editor of the portal www.di-conexiones.com.
