Carla Cadete completed a PhD in Design at Aveiro University (2009) and a Bachelor in Communication Design at the University of Porto, Faculty of Fine Arts (1991). Course leader (June 2015 to June 2023) and associate professor (since 2011) of Communication Design undergraduate degree at Lusófona University (Porto, Portugal). Researcher at the Hei-Lab Centre. Principal Investigator of “Design as a means of preventing childhood obesity” supported by Pedro Hispano Hospital. The research project won the FAZER + 2022 Award – Science and Innovation Support Program for Good Research Practices in Teaching, and its high scientific and pedagogical quality. The competition aims to reward the best processes of integration of R&D practices in the contents of curricular units that promote the integration of students in (R&D) activities, especially in the initial study cycles. Mascot author of Pediatric Service from Pedro Hispano Hospital (2022). Social Design researcher who has written several articles on pedagogical practices in an academic context with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.MFounder and member of the Organizing Committee for D4Si – 1st International Conference on Design for Social Impact, 2024. She is starting a post-doctoral program at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, University of Lisbon.
