Member of CERL _ CNRS (1997- 1998); Professor at the Department of History, Archeology and Heritage at the University of Algarve (1999 \u2013 2003), Integrated Researcher at CIDEHUS \u2013 University of \u00c9vora (2002- 2006). Since 2006, he has been an Integrated Researcher at CHAM \u2013 Humanities Center of Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Universidade dos A\u00e7ores. Since 1999, member of CELAS \u2013 Center for Luso-Arab Studies. Since 2006 he has been an Associate Professor at the Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes \u2013 Grupo Lus\u00f3fona in Portim\u00e3o, where he works, in addition to teaching, as Coordinator of the International Relations Office and President of the Electoral Commission. He is the author of four books and several articles, published in national and international scientific journals, on topics related to Arab culture and Islamic, Sunni Islam, minorities and migration, Human Rights, the Mediterranean and Mediterranean-ness, contemporary thought and the issues of research and higher education, Transhumanism, Design and Mediterranean Architecture. He collaborates as trainer and\/or researcher with several national and international university institutions. He received the Gold Medal of Recognition and Academic Merit from the Universidade Lus\u00f3fona de Humanidades e Tecnologias. He participated in projects financed by the FCT and international organizations (IEHL_CNRST _ Rabat; ESPR_Universidade Saint-Louis\u2026).
