M. Duarte, born in Mozambique, is a prominent industrial designer with a Ph.D. in Production Engineering from Universidade da Beira Interior (2001) and Habilitation in Electromechanical Engineering from Universidade de Tr\u00e1s-os-Montes e Alto Douro (2012). He is a Full Professor at IADE \u2013 Universidade Europeia &#8211; Design School, a researcher at UNIDCOM\/IADE, and a Visiting Full Professor at Atl\u00e2ntica &#8211; Instituto Universit\u00e1rio. His past roles include Vice-Rector of Universidade Europeia (2019-2022) and Rector of IADE-U (2014-2016). Duarte&#8217;s research interests encompass technological trends, circular economy, and design methodologies. He leads the Blue Circular PostBranding Project and has chaired multiple international design conferences.
